Industrial Energy Audits in Denver, CO
Cascade Building Solutions helps industrial facilities uncover where energy is being wasted so they can lower operating costs and improve energy efficiency. From manufacturing plants to agricultural and processing facilities, industrial buildings often have complex equipment and production demands that require a more specialized approach than what can be gathered from a standard commercial energy audit.

What is an Industrial Energy Audit?
Unlike standard commercial audits, industrial energy audits evaluate:
- Process equipment energy consumption
- HVAC and facility heating loads
- Electrical distribution systems
- Compressed air systems
- Process-generated heat gain
- Operational inefficiencies
- Production-related energy waste
Our goal is to identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining operational performance and production requirements for your business.
Specialized Industrial Energy Audit Services
Currently, even ASHRAE does not provide a standardized process for auditing many manufacturing, agricultural, and industrial facilities. Industrial buildings are often highly customized environments that require auditors with specialized operational and technical knowledge.
Cascade Building Solutions is uniquely positioned to provide industrial energy audit services for complex industrial facilities. We understand the challenges involved in auditing buildings designed for highly specific manufacturing and industrial processes.
Every industrial audit begins with employee and operations screenings to better understand:
- Manufacturing sensitivities
- Security requirements
- Operational constraints
- Production schedules
- Facility-specific challenges
Our team prioritizes non-invasive testing and monitoring methods to avoid interfering with day-to-day operations or production quotas. We utilize advanced monitoring equipment to analyze process loads, HVAC systems, and electrical usage without disrupting your facility’s bottom line.
Energy Monitoring & Production Analysis
Cascade utilizes a combination of:
This allows us to accurately measure process heat gain and identify areas where energy is being wasted or improperly transferred throughout the facility.
A standard industrial energy audit maps your facility’s energy usage against production output to better understand energy consumption per unit of material produced.
For facilities requiring more detailed analysis, Cascade can deploy advanced monitoring equipment to evaluate the energy impact of individual pieces of production equipment over time.
Not sure how much energy is directly tied to production versus energy that is unintentionally heating your facility?
What Happens During the Industrial Audit Process?
Here’s what to expect:
An auditor will first collect construction and utility information about the building to best prepare areas of focus during the site visit.
The site visit includes interviews with staff familiar with the building’s operations, analysis of all energy consuming systems (lighting, HVAC, water heating, production, cooking, etc.), and many photos taken of the building envelope to assess its performance.
All of the information collected from the client and found during the site visit will be organized and transferred to an energy model to better understand the building’s energy use.
Through further energy modeling and calculations, Cascade will analyze all possible energy efficiency measures and their financial impact.
A clean and organized report will be delivered that includes a path forward to creating a more efficient building that matches the needs of the client.
